Himilo's main office is located in Garowe, Puntland, Somalia.
Position Summary
The Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) will be assigned to lead Tayosan’s procurement department and oversee the acquisitions of goods and services made by the company. The CPO ensures that purchases will meet organizational needs while helping to reduce costs, give higher profit margins or both.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Receives all purchase requests of medicines from the pharmacists from all branches, asks for relevant financial offers from suppliers, and proceeds with the Purchase orders according to the procurement procedure.
· Prepares bidding files and manages the tender procedure for medicines with suppliers in accordance with the procurement procedure.
· Negotiates with suppliers to get suitable offers and prices.
· Proceeds with a comparison table of all received offers, and then sends it to the pharmacist for scientific and medical approval.
· Ensures that the purchasing of the drugs follow the proper legislations and regulations.
· Tracks the deliveries of all POs issued and conducts a regular follow up with suppliers in regard to incomplete deliveries or drugs shortages.
· Follows up on the development of the contracts with the suppliers of medicines.
· Ensures contract compliance through regular monitoring of all purchases.
· Serves as a liaison to suppliers of medicines for issues related to contract prices and contract compliance.
· Creates and improves the international market of the company by acquiring the opportunities of buying from international pharmaceutical companies.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
· At least 3 years of relevant experience in the procurement field. Preferably dealing with international suppliers.
· A good experience in medical and pharmaceutical market
· Master’s degree in public health, pharmaceutical studies, or any other related course
· A bachelor’s degree in business management or procurement and logistics.
· Conversant with international procurement standards and guidelines.
